working towards a deadline

I'm totally focused today on completing my stories for a community newspaper I've recently started writing for, my deadline tomorrow!

I'm relishing in the opportunity. Invaluable practical experience as I undertake completing a second degree, Bachelor of Communication (Journalism). This time around I'm studying from the comfort of home with the many distractions of my young family. I completed my first degree almost 20 years ago, the internet did not exist! I did not have a computer. I hand wrote all my essays. I can hardly remember the days before access to the internet, google, office and home computers. And now blogging! How times have changed.

I'll be back once I've hit the 'sent' button! That might be tomorrow.

  2. Well done on embarking on a degree. I admire your commitment to undertaking something you're obviously passionate about.

And I think it's great you have a 'Sadie' team!

  3. I think technology makes study both easier and harder. I'm studying via distance (last semester coming up - woo hoo!) and I find that there are so many sources of information it can be quite overwhelming, but then having so much information to hand can also be advantageous. On the other hand, I find it quite isolated, despite online study groups and the like. Pros and cons!

  4. Thanks Megan! I've contemplated the idea of undertaking a second degree for many, many years, with both my boys now of school age it seems the time is right. Although I'm under no disillusion that alot of self discipline, excellent time management, late nights and lots of coffee are going to become part of my world for the next (how???) many years! I'm really excited though :) My 'Sadie' team make alot of what I do possible, they give me the time and opportunity to do the things I want to do rather than have to do!
Have you given any thought to the book idea??? It really is a great read!
