a lovely letter
In only 17 days our 'baby' shall be starting school. He'll be leaving my side to spend the most part of his day without me. He will be joining his big brother so the transition for him hopefully will be a comfortable one. It is the start of a new phase in our lives, one I wished at times couldn't come soon enough but now I'm not so sure. The pre school years are over for us. How did we get to this point in what seems less than the actual 5 years? I remember vividly a mid wife walking us to our room from the birthing suite, he was simply so beautiful and still is.
Today he received a letter from his Prep teacher, how nice. Reminding him he will soon be starting school. Mrs A wrote she is looking forward to seeing him again and hearing the stories of how he spent his holidays. There will be a tub in the classroom with his name on it and a hook to hang up his school bag.
Life for us will 'change' on Monday the 1st of February 2010, too precious are the days and weeks ahead.

We just got one of those today, too!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest will be starting Prep in two weeks. I think I'm more nervous than him!!
Both my boys will be at preschool this year, abit sad that both will be away from me for part of the week. It all happens so quickly this growing up business, doesn't it? Love your blog and thanks for popping by my blog.

Hi Thea and Engracia - many thanks for your comments! It's so nice to know someone is actually reading this blog besides me :) I'm sure we all feel the same 'pain' as our children venture onto the next stage in their life - we can all relate to the intense mixed feelings of excitment, anticipation and a sense of sadness. Good luck with your journey.
